A few weeks ago I was honored to be among many given awards from the Baltimore Historical Society and The Baltimore National Heritage Area. My award was for the BNHA Educational Partner of the Year Award. BNHA is the same amazing group that helped organized our trip to Port of Baltimore a few weeks ago! We will continue to work with them throughout the year. When I get some time next week I will share the other stories of the honorees ranging from World War II to segregation in Baltimore. While I teach history, many honored MADE history. It was very inspirational.
I also have high hopes for our upcoming History Day projects which we will be discussing soon. We have some brilliant and creative students in the sixth grade. I really can not wait to see what they produce and who will receive awards!
