I had an incredible time in China. I have brought back so many valuable ideas to use in the classroom related to our ancient Chinese studies, as well as our current events discussions after my visit to Beijing.
The Great Wall was by far and away the most amazing place I have been to in my lifetime. It is an absolute must. I was really blown away by the natural beauty surrounding the Wall.
For our current sixth graders, I believe we have found the final designation for your international trip in two years! It will be a life changing experience!
This past Saturday the Mt. Washington Debate Team won first place again at the Baltimore Urban Debate League competition. In fact, the TOP SIX teams in the varsity division were from Mt. Washington! A big congratulations to Xavier and Jamal who had their highest score ever! This fall our debate topic was over police body cameras. When we return in January the topic will be recycling! Throughout the school year we will be kayaking in various rivers and creeks in and around the Baltimore area with the National Park Service. Specifically we will be learning about the environment and the history along the John Smith and Star Spangled Banner National Historic Trails. Check out the Ch. 77 news story on our first experience!
