This summer I was able to share on-site activities that Baltimore students from Mt. Washington, Waverly, Roland Park and Thomas Johnson designed in April! The investigative activities ranged from technology in the White House over the years to what life was like day to day. The activities were all based off documents and artifacts located in the White House Visitor's Center which is part of President's Park.
Next Spring we will be taking part of a "bioblitz" at the National Mall. This is part of a National Park Service initiative to identify as many living organisms in and around our parks across the country!
We also took a trip up to the top of the Washington Monument. In our trip to the National Mall this Fall we not only hope to learn more of American history but also to study the design of the city. This will help us in our research for our Future Cities Competition!
