During our visit to the "Top of the World" our students were able to research various cultural and economic impacts on Baltimore from above. They also used their math skills in identifying various shapes and objects, as well as estimating distances.
Yesterday we went on a fantastic field research experience to the "Top of the World Exhibit" at the World Trade Center in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. While there we read about Baltimore's history and culture. There is a new exhibit there on 9/11, as well. We also were able to visualize Baltimore's role in the global economy. Students even sketched a scene around they city in which they felt encapsulated "Baltimore and Globalization". Examples were Dominoe's Sugar, cargo ships, and the various international banks. For Math we estimated distances to places like Ft. McHenry and Patterson Park. Then we used a map of Baltimore to find the exact distances!
This page is dedicated to the work and research my students do each day.
